Sixty-five magnificent horses are taking a well-deserved rest on a Tennessee farm. The four-legged stars recently sold out performances for Cavalia Odysseo in Toronto and are now receiving some much-needed rest before starting up another 12-day run of performances in Nashville.
The world’s largest touring production, Cavalia Odysseo, reintroduces audiences of all ages to the centuries-old relationship between humans and horses. Cavalia founder and co-founder of Cirque du Soleil, Normand Latourelle, joined us today to discuss this jaw-dropping production.
This show includes 65 horses, of 12 different breeds, and 50 artists, including acrobats, aerialists, dancers, and live musicians. It marries the equestrian arts, stage arts, and high-tech theatrical effects.
Cavalia Odysseo is housed under the world’s largest touring tent, known as the White Big Top. It stands 12 stories high and covers 58,397 square feet. Twenty-six motors are required to raise the 118,019 square foot canvas.
