Nashville, Tenn. (RFD-TV) John Wayne, The Genuine Article is now open at the Gaylord Opryland Resort, as a part of “A Country Christmas,” in Nashville, Tennessee. The exhibit, which starts today and runs through January 1, 2018, takes you through John Wayne’s career with never before seen memorabilia from his private life, and is is based on the biography “John Wayne: The Genuine Article.”
While immersed in the interactive exhibit, visitors will be able to see how Marion Morrison (his real name) transformed into John Wayne – from his early childhood days, through his storied career as an iconic Hollywood movie star.
There’s something for everyone while walking through Wayne’s life. Fans will experience highlights from his acting days through fan mail, carefully retold stories, and classic movie props. While Wayne was well-known for his acting career, he was also a devoted family man. Stories about family time are told with pictures that depict some of the family’s favorite memories, including those from Wayne’s ranch in Arizona.
John Wayne’s son, Ethan Wayne, joined “Market Day Report” to tell viewers about creating the exhibit and revealing pieces of history never before seen.
“It is so exciting to see my father’s world come to life for the public to experience and enjoy,” said Ethan Wayne.“The holidays are always a special time for our family, and Nashville is such a fun destination during the holiday season. We can’t wait to kick off the opening of the exhibit for families and friends to enjoy quality time together while learning about my father beyond his personas on screen in an interactive way.”
