NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt has resigned amid a long-lingering cloud of controversy. President Trump announced Pruitt’s resignation on Twitter. It comes after months of criticism, including several ethics controversies and disputes with the biofuels industry over the Renewable Fuel Standard. Most recently, there were reports his staff kept “secret” calendars and schedules to hide controversial contacts with industry representatives.

Recently-confirmed Deputy Andrew Wheeler will take over as acting EPA Administrator on Monday.
