NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) The controversial Waters Of The U.S. rule is back in effect, after a judge decides it was illegally suspended. The rule impacts these 26 states where it has not been blocked by court order. WOTUS, implemented during the Obama Administration, redefined which wetlands and small waterways are covered by the Clean Water Act. Farmers and ranchers fought back, saying it would lead to increased regulation of their land. That’s why, back in February, the Environmental Protection Agency delayed WOTUS, but environmental groups sued the Agency, saying it rushed the rulemaking process. The judge agreed with the environmentalists, putting WOTUS back in place, as the Administration works to replace it.
